Jan. 31, 2018 – Washington Co., WI – .Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) announced Rep. Rick Gundrum (R-Slinger) has been officially sworn into office to represent the 58th Assembly District in southeast Wisconsin. The ceremony was held in the speaker’s office Wednesday morning. Rep. Gundrum won the seat in a special election earlier this month. The office was vacated following the unexpected death of Rep. Bob Gannon.
“I’m pleased to welcome another strong conservative voice to the Assembly Republican caucus,” said Speaker Vos. “Rick’s experience in local government and as a small business owner will prove to be beneficial in the Assembly.”
Rep. Gundrum was most recently the Washington County Board Chairman. In addition, he has served nearly a decade on the Board of Trustees in the Village of Slinger. Rep. Gundrum prides himself as a fiscal conservative who is also pro-life. His district swearing-in ceremony will take place on February 7th at the Old Courthouse Museum in West Bend at 5 p.m. Speaker Vos will also have him repeat the oath of office before the entire chamber during the next Assembly floor session day in February.
“I’m anxious to get started and work on Governor Walker’s ambitious agenda,” said Rep. Gundrum. “I look forward to continue building on the successes that have taken place in the last eight years.”
