Richard Backhaus, from M&R Bar, has passed away

November 16, 2021 – West Bend, WI – A little bit of history died this week as Richard Backhaus, from M&R Bar passed away Monday, November 15, 2021.

Richard and his wife Marilyn ran the tavern on N. Main Street for many years.  Neighbors will remember the long bar, the classic Old Style sign out front, the homey crafts on the walls, the black rotary phone with the number Federal 4 7828 and the regulars.

Richard was 86 years old. Funeral details will be posted when information becomes available. Tentatively the visitation is set for Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. with a service at 5 p.m. at Phillip Funeral Home in West Bend, WI.
