Oct. 9, 2017 – West Bend, WI – A record crowd for the 12th annual Interfaith Tea as several hundred people gathered at the West Bend Mutual Prairie Center on Sunday to “get their Smokey on!”
This year’s theme was a campfire tea. Neighbors came dressed in their best outdoor gear including celebrity waiter Randy Spaulding from Spaulding Clinical who was a huge hit in his scout leader uniform.
Tables were decorated with colorful campfire themes and Saz’s catered a tasty treat complete with an appetizer of watermelon and feta cheese followed by grilled chicken and a tinfoil wrap of potato salad and for dessert – of course, S’mores cupcakes.
Guests filled 46 tables this year, a huge increase from 37 tables from the 2016 event. Money raised during the Campfire Tea will help support Interfaith Caregivers of Washington County. The local organization pairs seniors with caring volunteers.
On a side note: A big “thank you” to Interfaith for the opportunity to volunteer at this year’s event. I had two tables to serve and nobody got any coffee in their lap… so THAT was a big plus. The guests were also EXTREMELY generous! The Washington County Insider tables took 2nd place for tips. Hats off to West Bend Mutual who again took first place.
