Schaefer issued the note below.
Dear customer,
I am writing to share some news with you. I’ve accepted an offer to sell Schaefer’s BP. The sale will take place as of October 31, 2022.
I write this letter with both a heavy heart and a sense of relief. As I told one of my customers, I will be 40 on my next birthday so it’s time to start thinking about slowing down. 🙂 (Stop laughing that is my story and I’m sticking to it.)
Bob and I built a station from the ground up starting with a farm field. It is very special to me as it was to him. I tell people my gut is telling me I am doing the right thing, but my heart is breaking.
I am happy to report the new owners want to keep all the great staff members, so you will continue to see familiar faces as well as some new ones.
The new owners are very nice and want to continue the business as it is running now. I have offered to be of any help to them.
This will hopefully be a seamless transition. I will still be working at Schaefer Service Center in case you miss me. 😊
I would like to say how much I appreciate what a great and loyal customer are you have been. I know you have choices and I appreciate the fact you choose us.
So again, thank you for all your business for the 22 years of our gas station, convenience store, car wash business at this location.
Love and thanks.
