West Bend, WI – There’s a new hair stylist making her mark in West Bend, Wi, as Samantha Shafer opens Aces, 3424 W. Washington Street.
“I named my business Aces after my great grandfather,” said Shafer. Many are familiar with Ace Canvas, owned and operated by Lee and Sandy Stehling. Several years ago, the Stehlings remodeled the front of their business into a salon for their daughter and Style ‘N’ Studios was born. The Stehling’s granddaughter, Samantha, is now striking out on her own and carrying on the family’s entrepreneurial spirit.

“I went into business for myself because I wanted to work with my mom,” said Shafer. “I also wanted to be independent; I like to take charge and work for myself.”
While in cosmetology school Shafer was a go-getter. “I had strong opinions and liked to do my own thing and it always turned out… probably a little better,” she said.
A self-described “good listener” Shafer said she is good with customers and helps add a bit of creative flair to their final cut or style. ”
