Papa Johns, which reportedly “started in a broom closet in Jeffersonville, IN,” has 19 stores in Wisconsin including Fond du Lac, Menomonee Falls and Sheboygan.

The franchise used to be on the south end cap of the Sendik’s strip mall on 18th Avenue in West Bend. Topper’s Pizza moved in in 2020.

In a unique twist, Topper’s has now closed and Papa Johns is making its return.

Adam Williquette, president of American Commercial Real Estate handled the transaction.

The new pizza joint is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2023.

  1. I don’t understand why they are trying again. Hopefully they will have all new management because the last location was a dumpster fire.

  2. We went last night to order pizza’s for the NCAA games. It was an absolutely horrible experience. The delivery drive was taking the order, he was the only competent person to interact with. He asked the manager Davante at least 5 times and for 20 minutes to sign out of the system so he could finish the order. Davante ignored every request kept shaking his head and acting totally confused. The female individual making the pizza’s was also very confused – I don’t think she knew how to read the order screen, as numerous pizza’s were being taken out before they were done to add toppings that were missed. It was 7:00 pm at night and Davante made it very clear he didn’t want any more orders – so we took are business of $110.00 to a competitor that gave us great service. when we walked out the door the delivery driver felt bad Davante had a smile on his face — we will never be back. This will be the second time PAPA JOHNS closes in West Bend.
