Washington County – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is developing plans for proposed improvements on WIS 60 in Washington County. The project extends from Wayside Drive to a point just west of the I-41 interchange ramps. WisDOT is providing project notification and is offering the public an opportunity to provide comments on the proposed project.
Project Information
The proposed improvements will address deteriorating pavement and decreased ride
quality on WIS 60. Improvements include:
4-inch mill & overlay of WIS 60 (4 miles)
Replace all traffic signals
Upgrade curb ramps
Add sidewalk to close the gap between existing sidewalk/trails
Kettle View Ct to Parkway Dr – North side
Industrial Dr to end of project – South side
Replace guardrail that is damaged or past the end of useful life
Repair of bridges over railroad tracks
Operational improvements at WIS 60/164 intersection
Miscellaneous culvert pipe maintenance work

Various surveys may be conducted in the project area including archaeological, historical building, and right of way, along with soil testing/borings and contaminated material investigation.
Information obtained from these surveys will be used when an evaluation is made about the possible improvement of this roadway and the project’s effect on the environment. Some of this work may require staff to enter your property to conduct their work or take
photographs of buildings on your land. Every effort will be made to cause you as little
inconvenience as possible, perform the work in a timely manner, and answer any questions
about the work being done.
