Power outages hit Washington County and neighboring communities

January 12, 2024 – Washington/Ozaukee Co., WI – Heavy snow is being blamed for power outages across Washington County and neighboring communities.

We Energies is reporting 48 outages in West Bend, WI, and a dozen people without power in Allenton.

According to the latest map the Milwaukee area is being hit the hardest with thousands without power.

Wet, heavy snow is blanketing all of southeastern Wisconsin and the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning until noon Saturday.

While the snow may subside there is bitter cold on the heels of this storm with windchills between 25 and 30 degrees below zero likely Saturday night through Tuesday.
