Police presence on Weslyn Court | By West Bend Police

April 29, 2023 – West Bend, WI – West Bend Police were called to the 800 block of Weslyn Court around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023.

Media Release:

On 04/29/23 at 1:22 p.m. the West Bend Police Department received a call from a male subject stating he was at an apartment in the 800 block of Weslyn Court, had killed his family, and was armed with a rifle awaiting officers’ arrival. Officers from the West Bend Police Department and Washington County Sheriff’s Office established a perimeter and evacuated several residences in the area. Officers made contact with all residents and searched the apartment. No injured subjects were located.

West Bend Police Detectives are continuing to investigate this as a swatting incident.

Police issued an initial statement: Please avoid area of Weslyn Ct. As of 2:30 p.m. West Bend Police Officers are involved in a police action in the 800 block of Weslyn Ct. We ask that you avoid the area until this situation is resolved. We will provide an update when the situation resolves.

Weslyn Court is south of Decorah Road and just west of 18th Avenue.

 

An update was later posted as the situation apparently came to a resolution.

UPDATE: The situation has safely resolved with no force utilized and no injuries to anyone. Law enforcement is currently with a 24-year-old resident determining the circumstances of the call and will be leaving the scene shortly.
