August 17, 2019 – Washington Co., WI – As chair of Washington County History Center’s 2019 Pioneer Kids Day, I would like to thank everyone who helped make this year’s event a huge success.
We had a record turnout for “Going West” which was a fun way to teach kids about the life of the settlers who went west to Wisconsin. We saw a blacksmith demonstration, participated in building a log cabin, and making bread on an open campfire as well as played games and sang songs from the 1800s.
This annual event would not be possible without the many volunteers and staff who give generously of their time and talents. Special thanks to Meijer Foods, Glacier Hills Credit Union, and McKay Enterprises for their financial support. Again, thanks all.
