It was a good team effort Wednesday evening as volunteers with West Bend Friends of Park & Rec and others from the community stepped forward to help put in plants at the ‘new’ Old Settlers’ Park on N. Main Street in West Bend.
“We have about 25 people who came out today,” said coordinator Lori Yahr. “We had about 300 plants and we’re almost done; you get a good group of volunteers and it goes awesome.”
There were lilacs and butterfly bushes, day lilies and a variety of shrubs and grasses. A ribbon cutting for the redesigned park will be held in June.
