A tough morning for the Sunday after-church breakfast crowd as Perkins Family Restaurant, 2400 W. Washington St., was closed.
“Temporarily closed until Tuesday” according to a sign on the front door.
Early word is there was a sewer backup. It was discovered sometime Saturday evening. The city was called as was AAR Plumbing. There’s a visible ice patch on the east end of the parking lot. There was also a steady parade of cars through the lot as hungry neighbors got the news and were forced to sniff out other alternatives.
Perkins is scheduled to reopen Tuesday.
Explains why Mother’s Day restaurant parking lot was packed when I went past at 9:00 this morning.
