February 3, 2022 – West Bend, WI – The snow penguins have invaded Cedar Community as 21 white penguins, about 10-inches tall, were found perched on resident’s mailboxes this week.
This is the first time this sort of species has been seen in the Wisconsin area.
Below is the exact note received announcing the penguins had migrated to the community.
Hi Judy
If you have a chance, drive by North Village in Cedar Community, main campus HWY Z, to see the snow penguins on top of each resident’s mailbox.
Early yesterday (2/2/22) someone placed a snow penguin on top of each mailbox (21). What a pleasant surprise when we came to get our mail or newspaper. Someone, don’t know who, was busy and playful bringing smiles and fun to our day.
I see a few are melting in the sun, but still very cute.
If you’re in the area, come see.

Residents found the penguins when they went to check the mail.
“They’re all the same with a beak, wings and little happy feet,” said Gladys. “Neighbors were amazed to see all the penguins, 🐧 and how playful and creative. It sure did bring fun to our day. Made me laugh!”
