November 16, 2020 – West Bend, WI – On Monday, November 16, 2020 at 12:06 p.m., the West Bend Police Department and Fire Department responded to call of a pedestrian struck in the 3000 block of W. Washington Street.
Responding units identified a 62-year-old man from West Bend with injuries.
Police learned the man was crossing Highway 33 in mid-block, and was not in a crosswalk when he was struck by a pick-up truck.
Police identified the 22-year-old male driver of the truck. The driver was exiting a parking lot on the south side of Highway 33. He was attempting to make a left turn when he struck the pedestrian.
The West Bend Fire Department transported the 62-year-old man to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa for injuries he suffered. The drive of the pick-up truck was not injured.
Police cited the pedestrian for Failure to Yield Right-of-Way When Crossing a Highway.
