August 31, 2024 – Fond du Lac, WI – On Friday, August 30, 2024, at approximately 9:01 p.m. the City of Fond du Lac Police Department along with the City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue responded to West Division Street between Main Street and Macy Street for a report of an individual who was struck by a vehicle.
The investigation into this accident is at the preliminary stages. Initial information provided leads FDLPD Officers to believe that a 42-year-old Fond du Lac man walked into the street and was stuck by a vehicle that was traveling westbound on Division Street. A 31-year-old Fond du Lac resident was operating the vehicle.
The 42-year-old man was transported to SSM Health (St. Agnes Hospital) by Fire/Rescue and transferred to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center- Neenah by Theda Star Medical Helicopter with life-threatening injuries.
The Wisconsin State Patrol assisted FDLPD by conducting an accident reconstruction at the scene. West Division Street between Main Street and Macy Street was closed during the accident reconstruction.
The 31-year-old driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was arrested for Operating While Impaired Causing Great Bodily Harm (Felony).
The investigation into this accident remains under active investigation. No further details or information are being released at this time.
