West Bend police confirm they have one person in custody in connection with a series of burglaries that occurred this week.
Police were called to north Main Street by Toucan Custard about 3 a.m. Thursday. Area business owners said officers were searching a wooded area on a hill under the water tower just behind the Boys & Girls Club.
It appeared someone tried to break in the local custard stand because a screen that normally sat in the front window was lying in the parking lot.
Lieutenant Paul Pokorski confirmed one man was taken into custody.
Police had reported a series of burglaries this past week: see police postings below.
Early word is police know the other suspect. It appears the men were caught last week committing similar crimes in the Cudahy area.
