West Bend, WI – “Don’t try to figure out Ollie’s,” said the contractor. “The store has a 7-phase process to opening and we’re only on phase 3 in West Bend, WI.” And with that, the message was relayed there would be no Christmas shopping at the new Ollie’s this year. A contractor was in the middle of the 29,000-square-foot store painting the support poles in the building red.

“Right now, we’re waiting on fixtures for this store and stock,” said the supervisor.
Looking around the interior you notice all the walls have been whitewashed, signs and marketing have been hung on the walls and from the rafters.
The contractor said the West Bend, Wi, store is slowly taking shape along with other Ollie’s locations in Fond du Lac and Sheboygan.
“I thought they were going to rush them out and open them in December,” said the supervisor. “But Ollie’s doesn’t think like normal people…. so don’t think like that. We’re looking into 2025 for an opening.”
It was October 2024 when WashingtonCountyInsider.com first reported Ollie’s Bargain Outlet was opening on S. Main Street in West Bend, WI. The franchise which has more than 550 stores, first opened in Pennsylvania in July 1982. There is a current list of job posting, including part time and full-time positions. Click BELOW for details.

October 28, 2024 – West Bend, Wi – Slowly but surely the former Big Lots! location in West Bend, Wi, is switching over to “America’s largest retailer of closeout merchandise.”

It was July 21, 2024, when word spread across West Bend that Big Lots!, 1690 S. Main Street, would be closing. It was a short-lived store as the retailer originally opened January 26, 2023. According to store management this was a corporate decision.
