October 3, 2020 – Town of West Bend, WI – There’s going to be a groundbreaking next week as a new office building will be constructed on the northwest corner of CTH NN and CTH P.
Dr. Kristine K. Neuburg DDS and her husband are building a new Gentle Dental Emporium. The locally-owned practice is currently at 533 S. Main Street in West Bend.
Chris Schimidt from Schmidt Building Co. LLC provided renderings of the new office.
According to Schmidt the building will be about 3,400 square feet, it will feature eight rooms – four for doctor operation and four for hygiene.
Old timers will recall that corner when one of the Groth boys stored his popcorn wagons on that site.
There’s also been some discussion about whether or not a school had been located in that vicinity and there’s a “forgotten” cemetery up on the hill on the southwest side of the road.
The groundbreaking ceremony is slated for Wednesday, October 7 at 12:30 p.m.
Yes I remember those popcorn wagons well. I lived a half mile West of there. Fritz Groth was the owner. He also sold shoes for a living.
Very nice!
This corner really needs a roundabout. It is one of, if not the, most frequent intersections for accidents in the area. Sure hope this construction speeds up the roundabout and not prevents it from getting done. If not, it’s going to be a real challenge to get in and out of that office.
My father said that he went to a small school on the southwest corner with his cousin Gus, who was Wes MacFarlane’s uncle. It was in the days when they walked 5 miles to school up hill each way.
