Ozaukee Christian School, 1214 Hwy 33, West Bend, WI, was recently given the Robert J. Steiner Volunteer of the Year Award at Threshold Incorporated’s Annual Celebration.
Present to receive the award on behalf of the students of OCS were head of school Kris Austin and fifth and sixth-grade teacher Jen Beck.
“We wish to spread the love of the Lord,” said Beck. “Jesus came to serve, not to be served, so we have come to serve.”
Town of Trenton Chairman Mike Lipscomb said, “We in the Town Government are thrilled to have such a quality institution in the community. More importantly the quality of people. From the OCS staff to the students and their families, Trenton considers the entire footprint of OCS as a great asset to our town.”
Threshold Incorporated hosted the event, which brought together individuals and organizations from across the community, including employers of their clients, Threshold Society Members and various volunteers and staff.
Threshold said, “We are all a team, working together to enhance the lives of the people we serve.”
OCS students have served at the Threshold day service programs for the last three years. Student volunteers at the Threshold and other organizations leave a lasting impact on those they serve while learning what Jesus’ mission was all about.
