Obituary | Zachary B. Schmoldt, 16, of West Bend

April 2, 2019 – West Bend, WI – Zachary B. Schmoldt, 16, passed away on March 29, 2019. Zachary was a junior at West Bend West High School. Zachary gave the best and biggest bear hugs.

He was sweet and funny! He had an unconditional love for everyone from playing with young children to helping the elderly. He cherished all his friends and family.

Zak enjoyed playing video games and taking care of his dogs and cat. He was proud of his job at Fleet Farm and considered his fellow workers as friends. He had been a dedicated Boy Scout since first grade, and had his sights set on achieving Eagle Scout. He had a passion for music and art. Zachary bravely and quietly faced his battle with chronic illness (P.O.T.S) since freshman year.

Zachary is survived by his loving parents Bruce and Jacqueline Schmoldt, birth mother Andrea (Jon) Koput, his half-brothers Wyler and Vaun, and his “exchange brothers” Simon Huth and Fabian Noesges; Godmothers Bethanie Roeglin and Elaine Radzinski; grandparents Jim and Joyce Schmoldt, Judy and Dick Roels, Ken “Swede” Erickson, Dayn and Kathy Winkler, Saga and Dan Roesinger, Kim and Dave Mayo; great-grandparents Ellen Erickson, Wilmer Dorzok, Audi and Bonnie Winkler; Aunts and Uncles Heidi Stockwell, Kurt (Lina) Schmoldt, Renee (Dan) Erickson, Kenny Erickson Jr, Sara (Ryan) Tienhaara; cousins, Nathan Muckerheide, Nolan Muckerheide, Alora Schweiner, Brandon and Benjamin Roeglin, Abby, Alex, and Bailey Schmoldt; best friend Matthew Schellinger, and furry siblings Bella, Molly, and Erie. He is further survived by many great friends and relatives.

There will be a Funeral Service for Zachary at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 6 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Drive, West Bend).

A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
