Obituary | Sylvian ‘Silver’ Szuminski, 83

March 1, 2019 – Washington Co., WI – Sylvian V. “Silver” Szuminski, 83, passed away Tuesday February 26, 2019 while at home surrounded by family.

He was born on January 22, 1936 in Cassel, WI to Frank and Helen (nee Gajewski) Szuminski. On February 13, 1960, Sylvian married Gloria J. Schlicht at Gesu Catholic Church in Milwaukee. He retired from American Motors as a die setter after 32 years of service.

Sylvian is survived by his wife Gloria, his children; Sandra (John) Turnblom, Gail (Ruben) Hernandez, Peggy (the late Jim) Bowser, Mike, Carol (Bob) Hansen, Mark (Carolyn) and Steve, grandchildren; Michael (Carmen) Turnblom, Christy (Michael) Peterson, Lisa (Levi) Cook, Tino Goetz, Stacy (Mark) Bronstad, Leo (Nicole) Goetz, and Brittany Goetz, James (Laura) Bowser, Benjamin Bowser, Brandon Menning, Anthony Hansen, Taylor Hansen, Sean Szuminski, and another granddaughter on the way, plus 28 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, his sister Jolanta (Frank) Jagodzinski, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 3 brothers.

Sylvian enjoyed bear hunting, deer hunting, fishing, playing the lottery, but he especially loved to spend time with his family and watching Fox News. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date to be determined.
