West Bend, WI – Ronald “Ron” Shaw, 87, of West Bend went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.
He was born on September 15, 1935, to the late Harry and Emily (nee Allen) Shaw in Chicago, IL. Ron honorably served in the United States Air Force for seven years. Later he worked for the US Navy as a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years. On November 6, 1999, he was united in marriage to Patricia Meyer at Trinity Church in Wisconsin Dells. Ron was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in West Bend. Ron enjoyed the outdoors, watching the wildlife, and gardening. He and Pat traveled around the United States for nine years in their motorhome. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and will be missed by all who knew him.
Those Ron leaves behind include his wife, Pat Shaw; three children, Robin (Jerry) Truesdell, Jeff Shaw, and David (Erin) Shaw; his wife’s three children, Terry Laatsch, Jennifer (Ross) Thompson, and Karen (Mike) Gross; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Claire (Herb) Wilson and his brother, Art (Anna) Shaw.
A funeral service for Ron will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 12 p.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 809 S. Sixth Ave., West Bend.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Ron’s name are appreciated by the family.
