December 1, 2023 – Washington County, WI – Robert J. Langer, “Bob,” 73, of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away in the comfort and care of his home, surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, November 30, 2023.
Bob was born January 18, 1950, in Marinette, WI to Arlene (nee Miller) and Robert P. Langer. He graduated high school while enlisting in the United States Army, serving our country with two tours in Vietnam.
Bob was a highly skilled carpenter of 40 years who taught many the trades that now have their own successful businesses.
After retirement, Bob, one who never sat still, drove for Wittenberger Bus Company. He loved seeing the kids every day and they all loved him. He also worked for the City of Hartford acquiring many long friendships in the community.
Bob enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking meals for his family and having his own spin on recipes, working on cars, and endless other projects. Bob was passionate about music and was the Elvis and Roy Orbison of his time and performed with several professionals and bands. One of Bob’s extensive accomplishments was celebrating 45 years of sobriety this past Memorial Day. He will be remembered for his big fun-loving heart, being a caretaker of others, leaving a legacy, “there is no such thing as can’t”, living life to the fullest, enjoying his work, and most of all loving his family endlessly whom he was very proud of.
Bob will be deeply missed by his beloved Patty, Patricia Temple; loving children, Jesse (Lynn) Langer, Rebecca (Gary) Rahn, Rodney Temple, Danielle Temple, Teresa Temple Himes, and Kristin (Derek) Nelson; treasured grandchildren, Benjamin and Ashlyn Langer, Connor Ford, Dustin, Dylan, and Devin Rahn, Mallory Himes, Matthew and Dayton Temple, Mya and Everly Nelson, and Luna Langer; and treasured great-granddaughter, Jaycie Temple; and dear sisters, Nancy Snyder and Lisa (Major) Artis. He is further survived by many loved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tony Langer; and sons, Robbie and Cody Langer.
A Memorial Service sharing stories of Bob and his love of life, family, and friends will be held Sunday, December 10, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union Street Hartford, WI 53027. Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m.-3:45 p.m.
