September 24, 2019 – Hartford, WI – Richard V. Salava, 81, of Hartford, Wisconsin, found peace on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, WI.
Richard was born on June 15, 1938 in Milwaukee, WI to Vincent and Lillian (nee Gerard) Salava. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Richard worked for American motors for 30 years before retiring. He also enjoyed fishing, watching football and was an avid bowler.
He is survived by his children, Richard (Michelle) Salava, Ronnie (Jacque) Salava, Roger Salava, and Renee (Steve) Prostinak; grandchildren, Raeann, Brian, Stephen, Christina, Abigail, Roxanne, Kimberly and Keven; great-grandchildren, Arianna, Skylar, Elena, Grace, Nora and Gabriel. Sister Shirley (Ron) Rodenkirch. He is further survived by nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents and sister Darlene Peters.
Memorial services for Richard will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union St. Hartford, WI 53027). The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 4 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.
The family would like to thank the staff at Deerview Meadows in Hartford for the care and support they provided for Richard.
