August 31, 2019 – Slinger, WI – Richard D. Zurn, 70, passed away Saturday August 31, 2019 at his residence. He was born on November 23, 1948 in Milwaukee to Robert and Mildred ( Pederson) Zurn. Richard graduated from Slinger High School Class of “66”. On June 22, 1968, he married Karen Kay Porath at Holy Hill. His profession was a self employed floor installer.
Richard’s hobbies were bow hunting, fishing, loved NASCAR, gardening, making soup, spending time with family especially his two great-granddaughters. He was always there to help anyone who needed it.
Richard is survived by his wife Karen, children Christine Roy and Steven Zurn, grandchildren; Derek Zurn, Trey Roy, Brandon Roy, Colton Roy, great-grandchildren Kaylee and Madilyn Zurn, sister Judy Genthe, brothers; Garry (Debra), Bob, Jeff, Jim, and Tom (Lisa) Zurn and his sister Sue Darmondy. He was also survived by his brother-law Robert (Julie) Porath, sisters-in-law Judy (Dave) Kuczynski and Nancy (Fred) Lohn, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, bother David Zurn, in-laws Ben and Norma Porath and brother-in-law James Porath.
A Memorial Service for Richard will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 6 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095). Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 4 p.m. until time of service.
