January 23, 2020 – West Bend, WI – Regina A. Ostrander (nee James), 83, of West Bend found peace on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at her home.
She was born on April 7, 1936 to the late Frederick and Bernice (nee Morroway) James in Connecticut. Regina graduated from North Division High School in 1951. She earned her 4-year nursing degree at Alverno College.
Regina worked as a RN for over 20 years in various capacities. On Feb 3, 1990 she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Ostrander at Fifth Ave Methodist Church in West Bend. Regina raised, sold, and showed Llama’s. She sang for a long time with Sweet Adelines, a Merri Tone Quartet for women’s barbershop music. Regina enjoyed quilting, gardening, and playing the piano. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends as will be missed by all who knew her.
Those Regina leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband Robert “Bob” Ostrander; a son, Victor (Lisa) Nonnweiler; two step children, William “Bill” Ostrander and Renee (Jason) Denz; two grandchildren, Scarlet Kitchen and Heather (Gary) Rothstein; two step grandchildren, Kaitlyn Denz and Cody Denz; a great grandchild, Abigale Rothstein; her sister, Valerie James; four sisters-in-law, JoEllen James, Carol (Wayne) Bruggink, Jean (Danny Schalles) Welzien, and Jane Weyer; two nephews, Edward Nonnweiler and Lonnie (Brenda) James; a niece, Meredith Hilgart; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Irene Kitchen and her brother, Jerome James.
A private service for Regina will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Preceptor Home Hospice and Home Instead Senior Care for all their help and care.
The Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service have been entrusted with Regina’s arrangements.
