Obituary | Patricia “Pat” Gianni (nee Scroggins), 81, of Cascade

July 26, 2019 – Cascade, WI – Patricia “Pat” Gianni (nee Scroggins), of Cascade (Crooked Lake) was reunited with her beloved husband, Ronald, on July 23, 2019, at the age of 81.

Patricia Gianni

Pat was born on November 25, 1937, in Chicago, daughter of Francis and Helen (nee Wilhusen) Scroggins. On September 14, 1957, she married Ronald Gianni.

Pat had various jobs in her life time, including payroll clerk at Teletype in Chicago, a hotel bookkeeper, and a daycare worker, where she got paid to watch her own kids. She was, also, a cook at Little Switzerland Ski hill, Slinger Speedway, and Addy’s Place (Diefenbach Corners). In 1986 she started operating Four Seasons Resort on Crooked Lake until her retirement.

Pat, her husband, Ron, and their daughters, Linda and Sue, enjoyed camping on their property in Adams County, where they fished many of the lakes in the area. They, also, spent many vacations at “the farm” in Kendall, WI, hiking and teaching her daughters to drive on the country roads. Pat, also, loved casinos, playing bingo, slots, and playing her favorite game, “Let it Ride,” with her girlfriends.

Pat liked taking the “scenic route” wherever she went, often stopping at every scenic overlook or historical marker she passed, and even some Chinese fire drills along the way.

Bartending at Four Seasons was her passion. Pat’s most memorable times in the bar included letting kids crush cans, laughing until she snorted, singing “Fishing in the Dark”, and Crooked Lake Yacht Club meetings. Pat’s other pastimes were spending time with her grandchildren, going to Door County for cherries with Linda, bird watching, bowling, Red Hats, and quick trips to Chicago for a Superdawg.

Survivors include her two daughters, Linda Gianni and Sue (Jim) Verhaalen, and her grandchildren, Jacob Verhaalen, and Katelyn Verhaalen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron, and her parents, Francis Scroggins and Helen (Frank) Farrell.

When you think of Pat raise a glass (her choice would be wine or brandy old fashioneds) and think of your favorite memory or her.

There will be no formal funeral or memorial service.
Private burial will be held.

Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.

We would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to the amazing staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Cedar Community, and Kathy Hospice for all the care and support.
