Matt Roberts, age 38, former lead guitarist for 3 Doors Down, passed away on August 20, 2016, in West Bend, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Garner, Sr., and Felicity Roberts.
Survivors include his loving parents, Darrell and Ramona Roberts, his brother, Darrell (Nicole) Roberts, II, his grandparents, Thomas and Sue Butler, 2 nieces, Madison and Reese Roberts, and numerous other family members, friends, and fans all over the world.
Matt was a native of Escatawpa, MS, growing up on the Pascagoula River with the Roberts family. He graduated from Resurrection Catholic High School in 1996 and graduated from MS Gulf Coast Community College. Matt was a founding member of the Grammy nominated band 3 Doors Down and remained with the band until 2012. He had the privilege of touring all over the world and had a special place in his heart for the military and playing for the troops deployed overseas. He, along with his family, was the co-owner of Wal-Tech Valve Company in Mobile. Matt was a loving, caring person and he displayed that with his dedication to helping those with special needs, especially at the Mulherin Home in Mobile. He will be remembered for his talents, his dedication to music, and his love for his family.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 26, 2016, from 12:30 – 3 pm at Three Rivers Assembly of God, 15910 Highway 63, Moss Point, MS. The funeral service will be at 3 pm in the church sanctuary. Interment will be in Serene Memorial Gardens, Moss Point, MS.
