January 4, 2024 – Washington Co., WI – Marvin George Kuehl, Sr., 95, went home to his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 1, 2024, while surrounded by his loving family. Born to George and Thresa Kuehl in Sherry, Wisconsin, he attended the Pittsville school district.
He was honored to serve his country in the Army as a tank commander in the Korean War. He was married to Janet Selzer on October 14, 1950. They celebrated their 73rd anniversary in October 2023.
Marv was a loving and awesome husband, dad, and grandpa. He loved the Lord and reading his Bible. He raised his family with the same love for the Lord. He knew how to work hard, but also knew how to have fun and laugh. He was a jack of all trades and loved working with his church and missionaries. He enjoyed music, playing games and telling jokes. He enjoyed the many travel adventures he took with his wife and family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Kuehl; his two sisters, Carol (Larry) Rush and Pat (Marv) Nieman; his brother-in-law, Sylvester (Barb) Mancl; and his two sisters-in-law, June Kuehl and Karen Kuehl; his six children, Marvin Kuehl, Jr., Marlin (Connie) Kuehl, Wesley (Mae) Kuehl, Vicki (Tim) Stopar, Jolene (Steve) Frenz and Jenni (Lee) Andrews; his ten grandchildren, Katie (Chris) Hughes, Kami (Ed) Peters, Brett Kuehl, TJ (Mindy) Stopar, Tori (Jason) Grosenick, Lauren (Caleb) Celuch, Emily Frenz and Malachi Ashlock; his great-grandchildren, Treye, Kassandra, Wesley, Gabriella, Collena, Faith, Carson, Athena, Samantha (Chris), Jason Jr. (Amber), Junior, Veronica, Michaela, Esther, Gloria, Oliver, Darnell, Louise, Trinity; and his great-great-grandchild, Taylor. He is also survived by many awesome nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, Marv was predeceased by his siblings, Evelyn (Delmore) Fine, Loraine (Harold) Henke, Shirley (Merlin) Jacobson, Violet Mancl, Orval (Cathy) Kuehl, Melvin Kuehl, Lester Kuehl; his grandchildren, Nathina and Ataia Ashlock; and his great-grandchild, George Peters.
VISITATION: will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Calvary Bible Church (70 E Pioneer Rd, Fond du Lac WI – 54935).
SERVICE: A Funeral Service in memory of Marv will be held at the church at 12 p.m.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Froedtert Hospital in West Bend for their care and compassion. They thank Pastor Ken and Mary and all of their brothers and sisters in Christ at Calvary Bible Church and Bethel Bible Church. Our thanks go out to the American Legion and Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home as well.
