March 2, 2020 – West Bend, WI – Marleen R. Baumann, nee Boehme, of West Bend, died on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at her home at the age of 70. She was born on December 3, 1949 in Germany to Harold and Ruth (nee Kornatz) Boehme. As a child, her family immigrated to the United States, settling in Wisconsin.
She graduated from Milwaukee School of Nursing and was an accomplished nurse for most of her career. She had a love for gardening and was passionate about creating a warm and welcoming home environment. She also loved to travel, with a few of her favorite destinations being Germany, Florida and Hawaii. Throughout her life, she loved all kinds of animals especially her dogs. They became more than just pets, they were part of her family.
Survivors include her 3 children Brian (Traci) Strachota of Slinger, Jeff (Abbey) Strachota of Appleton and Cari (Sophos) Landowski of Campbellsport; 5 grandchildren: Sawyer, Sydney, Sam, Grace and Ella; her mother Ruth Knoebl of West Bend; her half-sister Karen Boehme; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Harold, her step-father Joe Knoebl and her step-mother Kathy Boehme.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, March 4 at 6 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 until 5:45 p.m.
