Williams, Marilyn Diane Age 83, of Parkland, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Hospice By The Sea in Boca Raton, Florida.
Marilyn was born on February 6, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Carl and Agnes (Majkowski) Klumb. Marilyn grew up in West Bend, Wisconsin, where she discovered a natural talent for the game of golf. Passionate and becoming more accomplished at the game, in 1948 Marilyn was the first girl in Wisconsin to play on the then all boy’s high school golf team.
Following high school Marilyn went on to graduate from Rollins College (1954), all the while improving her golf swing.
Following graduation, Marilyn met her husband to be John (Jack) Williams of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, while playing at the Ozaukee County Club. In the years that followed, Marilyn won a number of Club and State golf championships.
During the 1970’s Marilyn was a member of the North Hills Country Club. Following divorce, Marilyn moved to Florida in 1979. In 1993 Marilyn was inducted into the Wisconsin Golf Hall of Fame.
Marilyn is survived by her brother Richard (Margie) Klumb of West Bend, Wisconsin; three children, Gregory (Jeanette) Williams of Middleton, Wisconsin, Debra (David) Carroll of Coral Springs, Florida and Bradley Williams; five grandchildren, Melanie (Carlos) Villarreal, Bryan Williams, Timothy Williams, Mitchell Carroll, and Sara Carroll; seven great grandchildren, Xavier, Gabriel, Alexander, Elliana, Arabella Natalia and Julia; and her brother Richard’s four children, Doug, David, Lynn and Diane. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Carl in 1997 and Agnes in 2000 and her former husband, John Williams in 1996.
