Jan. 22, 2019 – Marilyn F. Cleary (nee Held), passed away Monday January 21, 2019 at the age of 89 years.

She was born on January 21, 1930 in Nenno to Herbert and Elizabeth (nee Polster) Held and was raised in the Town of Addison. On August 13, 1949 Marilyn married Robert Cleary and they began their family. Her favorite pastimes were playing Sheepshead, doing jigsaw puzzles, hosting every holiday, family dinners, spending time with her family, but she was an especially devoted Mom and Grandma. Marilyn was a past officer and member of the St. Lawrence Christian Women.

Marilyn is survived by her children; Tim, Patrick (Linda), Terry, Kevin (Barbara), Daughter-in-law Kathern Cleary, Jean (Claus) Hubert, Maureen (Charles) Gehring, Terese (Dwayne) Herther, John (Angie), Robert (Rebecca), Paula Cleary and William (Colette), her 23 grandchildren; Sean and Brett, Christa and Stephanie, Michelle Wellens, Connie, Tim and John Hubert, Lisa Bowler, Melissa Hanlon, Robert and Benjamin Gehring, Mike and Tom Herther, Katie, Abby Kons, and Renee, Allison, Robert, Emily and Isabella, Erin Matusinec and Matthew, 15 great-grandchildren, her sisters-in-law; Louise Held, Adele Hubbe and Marilyn Cleary, step-brother Gerald (Betty) Schickert, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, son Michael, brother Ralph Held, sister Connie (Rinald) Weiss, brother-in-law Harold Hubbe, sisters-in-law Dorothy (Jerome) Rendahl, Kathleen (Lloyd) McCann, brothers-in-law Francis Cleary and Gerald (Betty) Schickert.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, January 24 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church (4886 Hwy 175 Hartford) with Rev. Davies Edassery presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, January 24 from 10:00am until time of Mass at 11:00am. Interment will be in the church cemetery following the Mass.
