August 6, 2019 – Hartford, WI – Layne Allen Boylen, 18, of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away unexpectedly Monday, August 5, 2019.
Layne was born July 3, 2001 in West Bend, WI to Christina Klemme (nee Vogt) and Kevin Boylen.
He recently graduated Hartford Union High School, class of 2019. Layne was accepted to study in the Electrical Power Distribution Program at Moraine Park Technical College this fall.
He was an avid athlete from the age of 4, playing baseball, basketball, football, and running track. He played club football, select baseball, and played for the Hartford Rec. Department.
Layne’s wit and sarcasm will be missed, along with his willingness to always try new things with no fear, going on new adventures to trying different food. He loved his family and “family nights,” being with his friends, playing games, and being outdoors. He was a brother to more than his own sisters whom he cherished. Layne was there for many and idolized by his “little brothers” including his cousin, Bennett Thelen and neighbors, Jaxson and Cooper Rolsma.
Layne is survived by his loving parents, Christina (Steve) Klemme and Kevin (Alyce) Boylen; cherished sisters, Jordan Boylen, Madison Klemme, and Tatum Boylen; treasured grandma’s, Tammy Meidl and Patti Merierotto “Ma-Ma”; dear grandparents, David Meidl, Steve(Cheryl) Boylen, Carl (Cheryl) Klemme; and his beloved dogs, Snoop and Roxy. He is further survived by many loved aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandpa’s, Donald Vogt and Greg Meierotto.
A Memorial Service for Layne will be held Monday, August 12, 2019 at 8 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union Street Hartford, WI 53027). Family will greet relatives and friends on Monday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.
