Obituary | Joshua “Josh” R. Schilling, 35, of Theresa, Wi

October 23, 2023 – Theresa, WI – Joshua “Josh” R. Schilling, 35, of Theresa, Wisconsin, was called to be with the creator on October 14, 2024. He was born on March 30, 1989, to Ronald R Schilling Jr. and Leslie C. Fletcher in Burlington, WI.

Joshua graduated from Burlington High School. In 1995 Joshua moved to Kentucky and began remodeling homes. Joshua went on to honorably serve in the United States Army.

SFC Joshua Schilling enlisted in the Kentucky Army National Guard in 2007. SFC Schilling transferred and joined the Wisconsin Army National Guard on the 31st of October 2008 and was a member of Company D(-) 1st Battalion 147th Aviation. He completed the Aviation Commo Repair Advance Individual Training on 13 August 2009 and the Avionics Mechanic Course on 10 April 2013.

He worked at Home Depot while attending Fox Valley Technical College and completed his Airframe Power Plant Repairer License in May 2015. He deployed with the Detachment 2 Company D 2/135th Aviation Regiment to Kuwait in 2015-2016. SFC Schilling was a Federal Technician at Army Aviation Support Facility #1 in West Bend, Wisconsin.

On April 16, 2017, he was united in marriage to Santa Teresa J. Schilling in Green Bay, WI.

Throughout his life, Josh consistently offered support to his friends and family, assisting them with their various needs. Josh had a passion for the outdoors. He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking, and rafting.

Those Josh leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Santa Teresa Schilling; four children, Christian Canales, Victor Canales, Juliana Schilling, and Emilia Schilling; his parents, birth father, Ron (Beth) Schilling; birth mother, Leslie (David) Fletcher-Hartley; four sisters, Catheryne Hellems, Samantha Sutor, Rachael Feltner, and Melissa Schilling; five brothers, John (Jamie Hine) Hellems, Ronnie (Natalie) Schilling, Nate (Sarah) Schilling, Matt Schilling, and Dennis Feltner; mother-in-law, Maria Valdez; four sisters-in-law, Amelia (Jesus) Castro, Maria (Oscar) Ruiz-Ruiz, Benita Coronado, Marlene (Celedonio) Santos-Garcia; Eight brothers-in-law, Luis Valdez, Fernando (Angel) Valdez, Heriberto Coronado, Hector Coronado, Jose Coronado, Pablo Coronado, Julio Coronado, Armando Coronado; paternal grandparents, Ronald and Jacqueline Schilling; Maternal grandparents, Louie and Pat Fletcher; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his brother, John Schilling, and his father-in-law, Hector Santos-Garcia.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Army Aviation Support Facility #1, 105 Trenton Road West Bend, WI from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. with military honors service to be at 2 p.m.
