March 21, 2019 – Barton, WI – John D. Johnson, 52, of the Town of Barton died unexpectedly Sunday, March 17, 2019.
He was born September 8, 1966 in Kenosha to William and Carol (nee Hanttula) Johnson. John graduated from Southwest High School in Green Bay with the Class of 1985. He then proudly served in the National Guard.
He enjoyed playing guitar, watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers, and spending time with his family. He was a very helpful person who could be counted on when you needed a hand with anything. John enjoyed baking and cooking; often cooking for family gatherings.
He was strong in his faith and was happy to attended church weekly at Peace U.C.C. in Kewaskum.
John is survived by his father William “Bill” Johnson of West Bend, 2 sisters: Deborah (Steve) Schaetzka of Brandon, WI and Terri (Mark) Busalacchi of West Bend and 4 nieces: Latisha Stubbs and her children Ariana, Armon and Layla; Elizabeth (Toby) Johnson and daughter Kylah; Kayla (Michael) Johnson-Stubbs and her children Caiden and Madison; Angela (Johnny) Johnson Stubbs. He is further survived by his beloved cat Francesca and other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother Carol in 2014.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum with Rev. Eric Kirkegaard officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall.
