March 24, 2025 – West Bend, Wi – Jane Delores Wilde (nee Jaeger), 89, passed away peacefully at her home in West Bend, WI, on March 15, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 11, 1935, in Milwaukee, WI. to John and Theresa (nee Melter) Jaeger. She married Robert Wilde on November 16, 1957.
Jane enjoyed spending time with her family, she loved having the grandchildren and great grandchildren visit her often. She enjoyed going to their school activities to cheer them on. They gave her immense joy. She had a large garden and produced many vegetables that she canned but also liked to share. She enjoyed going on day trips with her husband, sometimes stopping at the casino for a little gambling. She was a good cook and liked to bake hundreds of cookies at Christmas time.
Jane spent many years at the forefront of the search for her eldest granddaughter, Amber Wilde. She attended many interviews with the press, meetings with the investigators, and spent her free time hanging posters around town to make sure no one forgot about her. Many remember Jane as a fierce advocate, willing to do and say just about anything to bring Amber home.
Jane is survived by her husband of 67 years Robert. Her son, Steven (Stacy Lanier) Wilde. daughters, Kellie Koepsel, Julie Wilde & Laurie (John) Ehnert. Grandchildren, Shannon Wilde, Jeffrey (Sara) Ehnert, Nicole (Dustin) Siem, Lauren Koepsel, Karlie Koepsel, Shelby & Sawyer Wilde. Great-Grandchildren, Anikah, Orlando, Avyanna, Elsa, Alyxandra, Kobe, Francesca, Knox, Kashmir, Imaria, Gunnar, Iliana & A’layzia. She is further survived by her brother John Jaeger, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Theresa, Lorraine & Betty and other relatives. We would like to thank Comfort Keepers for all their help, especially Barb, mom’s special caregiver & Horizon Hospice for their support in her final days.
To honor Jane’s wishes, no funeral service will be held at this time.
