September 18, 2019 – Mayville, WI – Jane Louise (nee Kocher) Nickel, 60, of Mayville, went to be with her Lord, September 16, 2019 after a brave, strong battle with cancer and MS. She passed peacefully at home with her husband, Darvin, by her side.
Jane was born March 2, 1959 to Ronald and Mary Kocher. Jane and Darvin united in marriage August 2,1984. Jane’s most important job was the care for her son, AJ. He kept her focused on something other than her own health and he always put a smile on her face no matter the time of day or how she was feeling. They loved to sing together.
Jane touched many lives throughout her years. From the boys home in Saukville, being an AODA counselor, a paralegal for Brunner Law, to those she met at chemo, and the many people who quickly became her friends while she judged many Elvis tribute artists, all which fulfilled her life and brought her great joy. Jane was passionate about Elvis and had the opportunity to go to Graceland with her dear friend. There was no one who dared challenge her about her knowledge of Elvis. She loved her adventures she and Darvin took on the ‘bus’ with friends, ducks, monkeys and chilled fb. Jane loved her time out on her deck enjoying her coffee with her caregivers, her friends, and neighbors, no matter the time of year.
Jane was a devoted wife to Darvin, a loving mother to her boys Brian and AJ as well as to her stepchildren Mike and Brenda. She also leaves behind 2 brothers she loved to be with, Steve (Cindy) and Eric “Buff”, grandchildren Dominic, Brianna, Conner, Mekenzie, Nathan, Makalyn, special cousins, nieces and nephew. Her pets, Lucy and Ceasar kept her warm.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Mary and a granddaughter, Gabrielle.
The laughter, smiles, love, friendship, and her ability to shape lives will forever live on in all that had the honor of loving this beautiful angel.
Per Jane’s request, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Wear your favorite ‘Jane’ clothes. She wouldn’t want it any other way.
