Obituary | James R. Sager, 90, of West Bend

April 4, 2020 – West Bend, WI – James R. Sager, 90, of West Bend, Wisconsin passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital-West Bend Campus.

James R. Sager

Jim was born November 16, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI to Irene (nee Freitag) and Roy F. Sager. He was united in marriage to Mary J. Grenzebech on September 2, 1950. He was inducted into the United States Army just 7 months later.

He served his country for nearly 3 years during the Korean War. Jim’s biggest passions in life was airplanes and fishing. His dream was to learn to fly a plane and he succeeded and earned his pilot license. He enjoyed family trips going up-north for a week every summer, watching his family grow up on Pewaukee Lake boating and fishing, and traveling. He was a member of the Menomonee Fall’s Radio Control Club and the EAA. Jim was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather that will be dearly missed.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Mary Sager; loving children, Michael Sager, Nancy (Leo) Renz, and Suzy (Paul) Kesy; cherished grandchildren, Kyelle (partner, Jake Zalas) Kesy, Michelle (Jared) Spang, Cheryl (Kael) Brady, Tonya Perez, Eric (Megan) Sager, Jackson (Tammi) Kesy; and cherished great grandchildren, Jessica Green, Miklo Perez, Emily and Connor Brady, Adacellie Perez, Benjamin Goral, Ryan Spang, Kailey Sager, Drew Spang, and Cody Sager. He is further survived by other loved relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private service for immediate family will be held with committal at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.

A Memorial Service for Jim will be held on a later date pending the current pandemic restrictions. Please check back for updated service information.
