August 8, 2022 – Washington Co., WI – Hildegard G. Schoenauer (nee Mueller), 100, of Slinger passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022, at Serenity Villa in Slinger.
She was born on June 27, 1922, to the late Martin and Maria (nee Bender) Mueller in Speyer, Germany. She grew up in Germany and came over to the United States through New York in 1951, and then to Chicago, Illinois. She worked for many years at Singer and United Airlines near Midway Airport where she eventually settled for most of her life.
During her early days in Chicago, she helped organize grand parties with live performances in the Wrigleyville neighborhood which were attended by various notable public figures.
Hildegard traveled to Vienna, Austria with her niece in 1959 when she returned to Germany for a visit. During that time, she met her future husband Rudy, and they married shortly thereafter. They had one son, James, who currently lives in West Bend, WI.
Those Hildegard leaves behind to cherish her memory include her son, James (Anna) Schoenauer; two grandchildren, Andrew (Erin) Schoenauer and Madeline (Mike) Dorrance; four great-grandchildren, Charles Schoenauer, Theodore Schoenauer, Martin Dorrance, and Lorraine Dorrance; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rudy Schoenauer; sister, Elizabeth (Georg) Broenner; and two brothers, Hermann (Lenchen) Mueller and Hans (Friedel) Mueller.
To honor Hildegard’s wishes, no service will be held.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Serenity Villa and Horizon Hospice for their love, help, and care of Hildegard.
