February 4, 2024 – West Bend, WI – In Loving Memory of Dolores Mae Hahn May 2, 1943 – Feb 2, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we share the peaceful passing of Dolores Mae Hahn on Feb 2, 2024 at the age of 80. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother and loving soul. She entered eternal life surrounded by her loving family.
Dolores was born on May 2, 1943 in Port Washington, WI. She was raised in Trenton, WI where she attended a one-room country schoolhouse and graduated from West Bend High School in 1961. She grew up with her five siblings on a family farm.Â
Dolores was united in marriage to Florian F. Strupp on November 10th, 1962 in Slinger, WI. They enjoyed going polka dancing, playing cards, traveling, watching Packer games, and throwing large parties that always included her famous German potato salad and apple kuchen. Dolores and Florian worked together on the family dairy farm to provide for the eight children that they were blessed with. Family time was everything. They enjoyed 24 happily married years together. After Florian passed, she remarkably continued running the family farm and raising young children on her own. Her strength and determination was an inspiration to anyone who knew her.Â
In later years, she was blessed with 16 years of marriage to Paul J. Hahn. On June 1, 1996 in Slinger, WI she gained a loving partner in marriage, along with a beautiful extended family that she embraced as her own. Dolores and Paul enjoyed companionship in their retirement years together. They traveled, watched birds, attended theatre events, listened to polka music, went out to eat, attended grandchildren’s sporting events and activities, and spent quality time with family and friends.Â
Outside of her married years, Dolores’ hobbies included painting, crafting, sewing, bowling, puzzles, watching birds and planting flowers. She proudly started a tradition of summer family reunions and she truly enjoyed the bonding and togetherness of her large family. Her selflessness was an admired quality by all who knew her; she always put the needs of her family above her own. Dolores had incredible determination and strength throughout her life.
Her humor, smile and laughter drew people to her. Dolores developed lifelong friendships, and she continued to make new friends up to her last days. It was impossible to not instantly love her friendly personality. Satisfied by simple things, she lived her life to the fullest. Her legacy will be long lasting.Â
