Dec. 29, 2018 – Kewaskum, WI – Gloria Jean Serwe (nee Koepke), 78, of Kewaskum, found peace on Friday, December 28, 2018, at Ivy Manor in Campbellsport surrounded by a room full of people who loved her.
She was born on Aug 13, 1940 to the late Charles and Viola (nee Scholl) Koepke in the Town of Ashford. On May 20, 1961, she was united in marriage to Norbert Serwe at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Gloria and Norbert were the owners and operators of Serwe’s Tap in Kewaskum from 1964 and continued her career in real estate until retiring in 2002. Gloria enjoyed bingo, cooking, and traveling. The most important thing to her was her family, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those Gloria leaves behind to cherish her memory include her five children, Charlie (Sharon) Serwe of West Bend, Rochelle “Shelly” (Les) Pennington of Lomira, Brenda (David) Roehrig of Kewaskum, Amy Lynn (Jason) Gauthier of Kewaskum, and Joel (April) Serwe of Kewaskum; 11 grandchildren, Austin Serwe, Aaron Serwe, Lucas Serwe, Nicholas (Carmen) Pennington, Erica (Robert) Stoltz, Hunter Roehrig, Megan Roehrig, Samuel Gauthier, Ella Gauthier, Holden Serwe, and Landen Serwe; three great grandchildren, Sophia Stoltz, Reid Stoltz, and Josefine Violet Stoltz; two sisters, Lillian Burgert and Joan (Butch) Buslaff; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert Serwe and many brothers, a sister, and other extended family members.
Funeral services for Gloria will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Salem United Church of Christ, 8925 County Highway W, Campbellsport (in the town of Wayne) with Rev. Ruth Hansen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Salem Church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
The family would like to extend love and appreciation to Pastor Ruth for her faithful friendship and ministry to Gloria, and to the nurses and staff at Ivy Manor for all their help, love, and care.
The Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer funeral home has been entrusted with Gloria’s arrangements.
