November 7, 2019 – Saukville, WI –Gary P. Laubenstein of the Town of Saukville died of pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at the age of 73.
Gary was born in Port Washington on June 13, 1946 to Adolph and Esther Laubenstein. He was baptized, confirmed and married at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Newburg. Gary married Suzanne (nee Beger) on April 30, 1967. They were married for 52 years. Gary served in the National Guard Reserves, worked at Laubenstein Sales and Service, and Cedar Lake Communities. Gary was always there with a helping hand for his family or anyone who needed help. Gary enjoyed fixing things and spending time in his workshop. He also enjoyed reading.
Gary is survived by four children, Michelle (Mark) Schanning of Saukville, Brian (Shelly, fiancé) of Port Washington, Michael (Julie) of West Bend, and Monica (Curt) Wagner of Clive, IA. five grandchildren, Steven, Adam and Nathan Laubenstein, Emma Laubenstein, and Marisa Wagner. He is further survived by brother Mark (Donna) Laubenstein of Saukville, sister Judy Dehling of Fort Myers, brother Paul Laubenstein of Fredonia and in-laws Sandra (Peter) Jungers of Plymouth, Janice (Art) Laubenstein of Saukville, Bonnie (James) Steffen of Random Lake, Monroe (Laurie) Beger of Cascade, Larry (Marsha) Beger of Fredonia, Christine Beger of Waukesha, Jo (Barry) Barefoot of Green Valley Arizona, and Debbie (Shakeel) Ali of West Bend. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, grandchild Tyler Laubenstein, brother-in-law James Dehling, and sister-in-law Barbara Laubenstein.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 11 at 5:00 p.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Newburg, 623 Congress Street, Newburg, WI 53060. A visitation will precede the service at 3:00 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials in Gary’s name are given to St. John’s Renovation, St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church (623 Congress Street, Newburg, WI 53060) or to Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School (3399 Division Road, Jackson WI, 53037).
