Obituary | Frank M. Mayer, 84, of Colgate

May 5, 2020 – Colgate, WI – Frank M. Mayer, 84, of Colgate, Wisconsin passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 2, 2020.

Frank was born March 29, 1936 in Budapest, Hungary to Rose and Frank Mayer. He came to America as a young boy during World War II with his family. Frank graduated Boys Technical School and worked in the tool and dye industry. He served our country in the United States Army Reserves for 15 years. Frank was united in marriage to Nancy R. Hawkins in 1956 in Milwaukee, WI. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a caretaker for Daniel Boone Conservation League in Hubertus, WI, was the Town of Richfield Constable for 25 years, served as special deputy of Washington County for 40 years, taught hunter safety for 30 years, and was a member of the Masonic Masons.

Frank is survived by his sons, George (Georgia) Mayer and Mike (fiancé, Denise Todd) Mayer; grandchildren, Marshall (Veronica) Mayer Sr., Dean Mayer, and Angela Mayer; great grandsons, Ethan James Mayer and Marshall Gene Mayer Jr.; sister-in-law, Reidun Mayer; and brother-in-law, Pat Fitzpatrick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rose Mayer; wife, Nancy R. Mayer; brother, Robert Mayer; and siblings-in-law, Deloris (Bill) Huston, Lloyd (June) Hawkins, Mary Alice Fitzpatrick, and Robert Hawkins.
