Obituary: Donald “Wally” Oppermann, 92, of West Bend

Nov. 5,2018 – West Bend, WI – Donald “Wally” Oppermann, 92, of West Bend, passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2018.

Wally was born on March 8, 1926 in the Town of Polk to Frank and Norma (nee Becker) Oppermann. He married the late Betty Mae Klever on August 16, 1946 and later married Delores Kruepke on September 18, 2009. Wally was self-employed as a milk hauler and also drove truck for Kruepke Trucking. He later worked and managed Yahr’s Ready Mix until his retirement in 1989. After retirement, Wally drove a school bus for Konrath Busing and for Lakeside International.

He was the President of WI Ready Mixed Concrete Association, Inc. and a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in West Bend.

 

 

Wally is survived by his wife Delores, children Richard (Linda), Jerry (Jean), David (Krista) and Janet (Jim). He is further survived by his grandchildren Bob, Rhonda, Brian, Michelle, Christin, Laura, Corrin, Matthew, Aaron and Brett, 44 great-grandchildren, step-children Ron (Colleen), Dennis (Barb), Jerry (Sheila), Mark (Jane), and Peggy, 11 step-grandchildren, 22 step-greatgrandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Norma Oppermann, and wife Betty Mae Oppermann.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (6869 Wildwood Rd., West Bend) with Pastor Darren Knoll presiding. Interment of ashes will take place on Thursday, November 8 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church/Cedar Lake. Visitation will be at the church only on Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 4 p.m. until time of service (6:00pm). Memorials are appreciated to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (6869 Wildwood Rd., West Bend, WI 53090) or Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School (3399 Division Rd., Jackson, WI 53037).
