OBITUARY | Donald “Don” R. Pfotenhauer, 93, of West Bend, WI

May 28, 2024 – West Bend, WI – Donald “Don” R. Pfotenhauer, 93, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend went home to be with Jesus on May 22, 2024.

Don

Don was born on March 29, 1931, in Green Bay, WI where he lived most of his life. He attended St Norbert College for a couple of years before he met and married his dance hall sweetheart Nancy on September 27, 1952. They spent the next nearly 70 years together. They lived first in Green Bay and then in Augusta, GA where Don honorably served in the US Army as a military policeman. He also played the piccolo in the military band. After his service, he moved his family to Milwaukee where he worked for IBM as a field service technician for over 40+ years and finally settled in West Bend, WI.

Don was the very proud father of his eight children. Steve (Teri), Thomas, Joseph (Robin), Teresa, John (Joann), Richard, Beverly (Myron)and Linda.

He had 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren which he absolutely adored and loved spending time with.

Don enjoyed being a Cubmaster and then scoutmaster for many years and passed his love for the outdoors to his kids. He loved watching the Brewers, Packers, Bucks, Badgers, and any other Wisconsin team. His favorite player was Don Hudson. He also loved playing golf with his kids. He was very musical and played the piano for many many years.

Don was anxious to be reunited with his beloved wife Nancy, his parents Josephine and Reinhart Pfotenhauer, his in-laws Elizabeth and Allowen Williquette, his son-in-law Larry, and his beautiful granddaughter Holly. He was further preceded in death by his many siblings and siblings-in-law.

He is further survived by several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends,west  especially his new friends at New Perspective Senior Living in West Bend where he also sang in the choir.

The funeral service for Donald will take place on Friday, May 31, 2024. Visitation will take place starting at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at noon at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 N. 8th Ave., West Bend. A private burial will be held immediately following Mass. Guests are invited to join the family for a luncheon in the church hall after Mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Holy Angels School Trust fund in the Pfotenhauer name.
