Darrel was born on November 5, 1940, in Angelica to Martin and Alice Olson (Pingel).  He was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Forst on May 7, 1966, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Green Bay.

Darrel graduated from Bonduel High School in 1958.  He attended college and served in the United States Air Force.  He went on to work at IBM as a Field Engineer in Southeastern Wisconsin. After realizing early retirement was not for him, he continued his craft at Miller Brewery and freelance consulting.

He enjoyed golf, bowling, playing softball, and the outdoors. He took many vacations and road trips with his family who brought him his greatest joy. He always set the best example and gave us everything in life. We are forever grateful.
