July 2, 2019 – West Bend, WI – Constance “Conny” D. Stanley, 92, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.
She was born on October 1, 1926 in Chicago, IL to parents Herbert and Isabelle (Montgomery) Dettmer. Upon graduating high school, Conny took a job with the US Army and moved to Vienna, Austria where she met a handsome young lieutenant with dancing green eyes named Sam Stanley. The were united in marriage in July of 1948. Sam and Conny moved to West Bend in 1959 where they resided for over 60 years.
Conny enjoyed duplicate bridge, golf, traveling with Sam and trips to the casino and later in life began oil painting.
Constance is survived by her daughter, April Stanley; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam and sister, Helen (Morgan) Spangle. The family would like to thank the staff at the Waterford of Hartford and Heartland Hospice for their care and support.
Conny’s wishes were to have no formal services. Memorials in her name to the Washington County Humane Society are appreciated.
