December 13, 2019 – West Bend, WI –Bernard “Bernie” E. Doyle Jr., devoted husband and father, selfless relative and friend, and respected veteran passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at his home in West Bend, while doing what he loved.
He was born on November 15, 1949 in Milwaukee to Bernard and Cornelia (nee Davids) Doyle. At 17, he enlisted in the United States Army and served until retirement as a member of VVA Chapter 448. Bernie was a devoted husband and father who loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, golfing, bowling and traveling.
Bernie is survived by the love of his life of 34 years, Brenda (nee Faber); 2 adored sons Jeremy and Nicholas; half-sister Pat Fetterly; sister Lucy (Al) Zuelsdorf; parents-in-law Richard Faber and Karen Faber; sisters-in-law Deanna (Clint) Gerlach, Kim (Jeff) Moon, Julie Litzer-Doyle and brother-in-law Dan Rejch. He further survived by nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Bernie is preceded in death by his parents, brother John, half-brother Hank, sisters Helen Rejch and Alice Eichstead, nephews Josh Wille and Zachary Schmoldt and his niece Audres DeLonay.
The Visitation and Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church, 462 Meadowbrook Dr. West Bend, WI 53090, with Rev. Joseph Fisher presiding. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. followed by the service. Full military honors will follow service.
