Obituary | Arthur Franklin “Art” Schroeder, 71, of West Bend

November 19, 2019 – West Bend, WI –Arthur F. Schroeder, 71, passed away on Monday November 18, 2019 at the Kathy Hospice. He was born on January 31, 1948 to John J. and Elaine E. (nee Weisheit) Schroeder. Art served in the US Marine Corps from May 1967 thru May 1971 and served in Vietnam and he was always a proud Marine. Arthur married Eileen M. Sauer on August 2, 1969 and they began their family. He was an multi-talented, extremely handy guy who loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed being at his property in Wild Rose, camping, hunting, fishing, creating all his electronic devices and building computers. Art was recently honored with attending the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight on November 9.

Art is survived by his son Arthur J. Schroeder and his daughter Carla M. (Jereme) Wade, grandchildren; Andrew P. Schroeder and Kaitlyn M. Wade; sisters Betty (Boyd) Maxwell and Sue Schroeder, brothers; Jack (Dodie) Schroeder, Rich (Pat) Schroeder, Jim (Carrie) Schroeder and Chet (Pat) Schroeder, sisters-in-law Linda Sauer Schnabel and Rita Kenner, brothers-in-law Richard (Sheila) Sauer, John (Karen) Sauer. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Art was preceded in death by his parents John Jay Schroeder and Elaine Schroeder, wife Eileen, brother Tom Schroeder, sister Jane Schroeder and sister-in-law Ruth Sauer.

A Visitation Gathering will be held on Thursday December 5 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095. Full Military Honors will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight (PO Box 867 Menomonee Falls, WI 53052) or Wounded Warrior Project (PO Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516) are appreciated.

The family would like to thank the staff at Kathy Hospice and Horizon Home Care and Hospice for their loving care of Art.
