His 86 years of life began on May 2, 1936, when he was born to Arlyn and Martha (Brown) Decker in Thorp, Wisconsin. The second of four boys, Arlyn grew up working on the family farm where a strong sense of commitment and work ethic became his guiding principles. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1954 and married his grade school classmate, Evelyn Miller, in 1957. Together, they had three children: Jodi, Jeff, and Jason.

Arlyn went on to pursue a career as a plant manager and superintendent in manufacturing. His commitment to hard work served him well over the course of his career, and he found joy in balancing hard work with quality time spent amongst family and friends.

Arlyn felt a strong connection to nature and was an avid outdoorsman-he deeply enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trips to the Decker family cabin. He also enjoyed golf and was a loyal Packers and Brewers fan. Volunteering with veterans through InterFaith Caregivers also gave him a sense of connection and purpose. Arlyn had a quick wit and humor, and all who knew him knew the unique joy of his spirited personality.

Arlyn is survived by his loving wife Evelyn of 65 years; cherished children, Jodi (Bruce) Fell, Jeff (Tammy) Decker, Jason (Tammy) Decker; nine dear grandchildren, Rachel Fell (Luke Rosynek), Justin Fell, John (Taylor) Decker, Jared, Jenna, and Daniel Decker, Andrew Moses, Christy (Trey) Edgerle, Britney Moses; three adored great-grandchildren, Liam and Logan Decker, Hadley Edgerle; and brother Tom Decker.
